Unveiling Our Purpose

Hi, I’m Mark, co-founder of 321Vent, a 71-year-old semi-retired photographer with a lifelong passion for capturing meaningful moments. While I’ve worked internationally, most of my photography career has been centered in a small tourist town in Florida, where I owned studios and specialized in family portraits, weddings, and local events.

I come from a big, close-knit family and am the third of seven siblings, so I deeply value the importance of connection. But here’s the thing: life throws curveballs. Losing my older brother and sister profoundly shaped me and made me realize how vital it is to have someone to talk to—someone who will truly listen without judgment.

That’s why I started 321vent.com. I wanted to create a safe space for people who simply need someone to lend an ear, whether they’re working through challenges or just want to share their thoughts.

I consider myself an outgoing introvert—I enjoy connecting with people one-on-one and find fulfillment in meaningful conversations. A little selfishness on my part: connecting with folks through 321vent.com gives me the opportunity to travel the country while still building meaningful relationships with new 321 friends.

Hi there, I’m JJ, co-founder of 321Vent, Like many of you, I’ve stumbled upon some of life’s unexpected challenges. In my mid-40s, as the sole provider for my family of four, I was suddenly laid off. My search for a new job was complicated by an autoimmune disease that makes it difficult to stand for long periods. My husband, a construction worker, is facing his own battles – he needs a hip replacement after an injury and is recovering from a recent liver transplant.

During these difficult times, I realized that many others are likely facing similar struggles – job loss, health concerns, family challenges. The weight of these burdens became even heavier when I desperately needed a therapist but found that my insurance wouldn’t cover it.

What I craved was more than just the support of my amazing family. It hit me that we all need a non-judgmental listener, someone outside our immediate circle who can offer unconditional support without trying to fix things.

I desperately wished I didn’t feel alone, and I knew I wasn’t. That’s the moment I decided to create 321 Vent.

Then, just when we didn’t think things could get worse, we received an eviction notice. Thankfully, my dad offered us temporary shelter while we figure things out. It was while discussing these challenges with him that the idea for this website was born.

321 Vent isn’t just about financial security for my family. It’s about creating a community – a safe place where others who crave a supportive, judgment-free conversation can find a listening ear.
